1. SPECULATIVE BUY MyCelx Technologies

Top stock pick this week is Speculative Buy MyCelx Technologies by Canaccord Genuity with a tip performance of 22%.

MYCELX Technologies is a revolutionary clean water and clean air technology company that provides superior performance and cost-effective solutions. They have patented and proprietary technologies that are innovative solutions for contaminant removal in oil & gas, industrial, and commercial applications worldwide. MYCELX Technologies operates as an oil-free water technology company with over 37 global patents. They provide clean water solutions for the oil and gas industry as well as marine, environmental and industrial applications that require high-efficiency oil and hydrocarbon removal from water. They also provide novel water treatment solutions to the oil and gas, power, marine, and heavy manufacturing sectors. The company created the patented MYCELX polymer using molecular cohesion for removing oil and other contaminants from water.

MyCelx Technologies share price listed at 220p in 2011, hit an a-time high of 550p in 2013 and is now at 76p.

Shares jumped 26% on Tuesday at the recent announcement that half year losses are halved, driven by higher contract awards from new and existing customers. In addition it reported revenue up to $5.5 million from $3.7 million.

Full year results out on 26 September. Two analysts in Stockomendation say BUY or SPECULATIVE BUY they are Cantor Fitzgerald and Canaccord Genuity and there are no active short positions open.


2. AVOID Naked Wines

Second top stock pick this week is AVOID Naked Wines by Chris Bailey in ShareProphets with a tip performance of 10%.

Naked Wines is an online wine retailer founded by Rowan Gormley which launched in the UK on December 1, 2008. It connects small independent winemakers with wine lovers in the United Kingdom, eliminating intermediaries such as marketers, distributors, and agents2. This direct connection allows for substantial savings that are passed on to wine lovers. Naked Wines has a unique business model based on more than 200,000 angel customers who rate and fund the winemakers upfront.

Naked wines share price listed at 57p in 1996, rose to an all-time high of 879p in the height of lock down in 2021 and is today at 57p.

The founder who returned as Chair earlier this year has apologised to shareholders for the recorded £15 million loss this year, citing inflation, higher costs and taxes, and cost of living crisis.

Four analysts in Stockomendation – Chris Bailey and John Choong say AVOID, Jefferies says BUY and Liberum Capital says SELL. There are no active short positions open.


3. EQUAL WEIGHT S4 Capital

Third interesting stock pick this week is EQUAL WEIGHT S4 Capital (SFOR) by Barclays with a tip performance of 7%.

S4Capital is a marketing company founded by Martin Sorrell of WPP in 2018 with operations in America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia Pacific.

S4 Capital share price listed at 174p in 2016, rose to 831p in 2021 and today is at 72p.

This week the agency cut 500 jobs and shares fell 30% to a record low after it said it expected revenues to shrink. S4 closed 21% down having lost £120 million of value. It revised revenue forecasts and warned of more job losses.
